Queens Court

For Queens Court residential complex, Southern Comfort Mechanical installed a central plant geothermal system with individual fan coils capable of simultaneous heating and cooling in each suite. The system was designed with a vertical ground loop drilled to 100 feet. A central heat recovery ventilation system was installed to increase overall system efficiency.

Drilling on this site was challenging. The holes would collapse shortly after drilling, making it difficult to install any ground loop pipe. To overcome this issue, Southern Comfort Mechanical and partner company TruEnergy Source designed a 100-ft extendable rod system to insert the pipe immediately after the hole was drilled.
