This development, owned and operated by Opaskwayak Cree Nation, will provide affordable housing for indigenous students, elders and young families.  Primary energy-efficient features proposed for the building include a high-performance building envelope, SCMI-installed in-suite fan coils for space heating, and a central heat recovery unit to ventilate the suites. The HRV selected is SolutionAir’s RegenCore which recovers energy during both heating and cooling seasons, and under select conditions it also recovers latent energy.  This results in a healthier, cleaner and more comfortable living space that is continuously having stale indoor air replaced with fresh outdoor air.
